Homework

Miss Barrett and I do not assign regular homework for our students. We do, however, expect that they will use some of their own time to prepare for assessments, pre-research for assigned topics, and occasionally complete work that is not finished in class.

A minimum of 20 minutes of reading each night is recommended as well, as regular reading improves vocabulary, writing skills, and use of conventions.

Students have weekly multiplication fact quizzes and weekly map of Canada quizzes.  We encourage our students to prepare for these throughout the week by practicing multiplication facts (up to 12x12), and by studying the map that was given to them that highlights the provinces, territories, capital cities, and major bodies of water in Canada.

More multiplication practice sheets can be found at www.worksheetworks.com .

Additionally, these are the maps that were provided to students in the first week of school to use as preparation for their map quizzes.  There are 13 provinces and territories shown, as well as 14 capital cities and 10 bodies of water.
